Port of Tilbury marks close of Examination Period

The Examination for the Tilbury2 project ended yesterday and marked the end of the 6 month examination period. Throughout this period, the Port of Tilbury, key stakeholders (local authorities, the PLA, Highways England, Historic England, Natural England, English Heritage and others), landowners and members of the public have submitted representations and responses for a panel made up of three inspectors.

This has been a rigorous period of examination, but now the Panel has three months to write their report on the Examination with their recommendation to the Secretary of State. Following these three months, the Secretary of State for Transport will then have three months to determine if the scheme can go ahead.
